Victoria and James booked two of our favourite East Yorkshire venues for their gorgeous August Wedding, St Mary’s Church in Beverley and the delightful Rise Hall, a local venue we have filmed at many times, and love very much. We were equally delighted to work amongst some of our local supplier friends including florals by the amazing Sarah, at The Floral Lounge and making things look pretty at Rise, Cherry Williams Party Hire . Victoria wore a beautiful Suzanne Neville dress, sourced from Frances Day Bridal, with some very stylish Manolo Blaniks, Hair and Make Up by Jess Reynolds . Everything about James and Victoria’s day was planned exquisitely, with stunning on the day details, their wedding was truly timeless and classic, with a tonne of elegance. For anyone looking for some classic wedding inspo, you are in the right place! We loved filming every minute of this beautiful day, take a look at their wedding film trailer here…
These two are just an absolute ray of sunshine and we just loved shooting their spectacular wedding day, held at the gorgeous St Mary's Church in Beverley and then on to one of our faves Rise Hall. We loved working with the talented Katherine at Inspire Images and the brilliant Sarah at The Floral Lounge a dream team for a dreamy day. Helen and the team at Rise were as always, seamless and amazing, we can't recommend this venue highly enough. Working alongside family Zuill again (we filmed for Nicola's sister, Jess, last year) was a dream in itself. The whole family are just a joy and just full of love and kindness. We have been on a real journey with them all over the last few years and it really has been amazing. We are so happy to have captured a very special day indeed. xx
When we were first booked by Steph and Michael for their wedding at the Crab and Lobster in Thirsk, we were so very happy! It is a fantastic venue, and just knowing they had booked there, we knew they were looking for something a bit different from their wedding day. We were totally blessed with the hottest day of the year, a Sunday the first weekend in May (also the weekend Ed and I were married 6 years ago) - so it was super special for us! We were really excited about working with the very talented Emily Hannah Photography with her whimsical fine art look and eye for detail. We were just blown away by her images, and she was such a dream to work with on the day too. We had such a blast and loved working with Steph and Michael and their darling baby girl. I just want to also take a moment to mention how ridiculously beautiful Steph is. I mean, my goodness, she is just a bombshell and looked A-mazing. She truly was the star of the show in with her divine nod-to-golden-age-Hollywood look, and stunning Ronald Joyce dress. A beautiful couple inside and out and we are so pleased to share this little taste of a very special day indeed.... x
Everything about this beautiful Yorkshire wedding was perfection, from Lucy's stunning look, to our handsome Groom and perfect wedding design. Give us a flower crown and a Papakata tent any day and we are very happy bunnies! The day started at the gorgeous Hotel Du Vin in Harrogate, our dashing Groom and his men travelled in true style to the Church in a white Ferrari! The picturesque Church sat upon a high hill overlooking the Yorkshire Dales in Middlesmoor was picture perfect. Lucy and Christian held a fabulous reception at The Sportsman's Arms in Pateley Bridge. We really loved this day from start to finish, a beautiful couple inside and out and a lovely family to work with. Enjoy this little taster of a perfect day. x
We love love love shooting at the gorgeous Rise Hall, but what makes it super special is when we work with lovely people with a beautiful love story. We first met Matt whilst filming a wedding last year, where he was playing acoustic guitar for our Brides entrance. Matt is such a talented musician, and lives and breathes music. This was a wonderfully romantic day and music set the scene. Matt wrote Natalie's isle song, it was just so perfect in every way. We loved shooting with our new pals Tom and Ant over at Fossca Photography , we had a blast and were totally spoilt shooting with our gorgeous couple and their lovely family and friends. We really love this trailer, it is so pretty and romantic. I loved that the family chipped in to make decorations and create all the pretty. I love that they organised a Bake Off! Genius! Enjoy this little taster of a lovely romantic day and big shout out to the great suppliers we worked with on the day, especially Helen and her team at Rise Hall and our boys Fossca. x
I don't think we have ever worked at a wedding where the entire congregation give the Bride and Groom a standing ovation with cheers and whoops as the Bride walks down the isle, but this one did! This fabulous international pair had a jet setting bunch who couldn't be more vocal about how they felt attending this lovely wedding! Anyone who gets 'Hubby' and 'Wifey' Converse trainers gets cheer in our eyes! It was also the best religious ceremony we have attended, where everyone was included and encouraged to take part. It was so personal and beautifully conducted, a real dream to shoot.
We loved Laura's details of orange and white florals against the dramatic and historical castle backdrop. The wedding breakfast room was truly stunning and no detail was overlooked. We are really happy to share with you this very special trailer. The final film is in the edit at the moment and it just reminds us how special and beautiful a wedding day really is when you have everyone you love by your side.
Love, laughter and good fun was what Sam and Kelly wanted from their big day, held at the stunning Natural Retreats in North Yorkshire. An outdoor ceremony and marquee decorated with chandeliers, flat caps and pipes for the boys and a scattering of sparkle for the new Mrs North. Sam and Kelly held a truly international affair with friends and family flying over from all corners of the world, the beauty of holding the day at Natural Retreats was that everyone was in one place, together to enjoy the weekend and created a real party atmosphere! We loved working with the brilliant Paul Liddement Wedding Stories who's photo's are gorgeous, you can view them here . Forage and Blossom created the beautiful and elegant florals, a stunning arch for the ceremony, natural whites and greens for the bouquets which married to the surroundings. The day was fun from start to finish and we love their upbeat wedding trailer which captures the day perfectly. Congratulations you lovely two! x
Sean & Daniela's beautiful day started out at the family home for bubbly Bridal preparations, the girls looked fab in their matching dressing gowns, a very glamorous start for us! There was a whole lot of love between our stunning Bride Daniela and her entourage of beautiful Bridesmaids, being childhood friends, it was nostalgic and heartwarming to see the girls together relaxing before their big moment. Dapper Groom Sean met us at the church and had everything in order, friends and family arrived to the sounds of strings echoing across the vaulted ceiling. A fleet of white London cabs delivered the wedding party to us, and pretty in pastels and ivory, the girls were looking amazing. Daniela's smile said it all as she reached the alter to the equally beaming Sean, we couldn't help but feel the love radiating from these two. It was a real pleasure to witness them get 'wed'! On to Adlington Hall where the grounds blessed with pink cherry blossoms and forget me nots looked stunning, what a fantastic party our lovely couple held. Adlington Hall is amazing and full of history, we just loved it. Photos of the day were taken by Mick Cookson, who was a real pleasure to work with and got some really stunning shots. We are really happy to offer this little piece of Sean & Daniela's day, and can't wait to get their final film over to them. Congratulations you two! x
We are so delighted to be able to share with you this little film of Tony & Harmeet's big day. The nature of the Sikh wedding meant that we had some beautiful and amazing footage to look forward to and the day didn't disappoint! Tony & Harmeet booked us over a year ago and we had been looking forward to their wedding for ages!! We talked on many occasions about the order of the day and the process in which the ceremonies and events would unfold, organising a large wedding for over 200 people isn't an easy feat! Tony, Harmeet and their wonderful families did an outstanding job. A very traditional Sikh ceremony was held at the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha, Leeds, followed by a delightful cocktail hour and wedding breakfast held at the fabulous Oulton Hall. Everyone looks absolutely beautiful dressed in traditional sari's and headdresses. We joined Tony for his preparations at home, with friends and family joining him for the celebrations. Both families participated in a traditional Milni on arrivals at the Gurdwara and we loved observing their closeness and delight in being together as a family. It was really wonderful.
We loved spending time with our gorgeous couple, and when it came to the dancing, we all almost jumped up and joined them. We must mention working with Qu Photographer who was brilliant on the day and worked seamlessly in a very documentary style. What a brilliant day, with beautiful, beautiful people and we couldn't be more happier to have shared in their very special day. We wish them both the happiest of lives together. x
These Two. I have to say, we work with some pretty lovely people in this business, but creating a wedding film for Ollie and Jenna, was so delightful in everyway. We knew when we met them at Silkstone All Saints Church back in the Spring, that they were lovely, and we really couldn't wait to see the pretty pastel hues, gold and sparkle and all the exquisite details that Jenna described for her big day, in action. We were not disappointed. As well as getting to hang out with the fantastic fine art photographer that is Georgina Harrison all day (you can see her beautiful photos here; http://georginaharrisonphotography.co.uk/2014/07/yorkshire-wedding-photography-smallshaw-farm-marquee-wedding-jenna-ollie/), we were all in agreement that we were spoilt with glamour and natural sophistication. For Jenna, bridal preparation started at the family home, whilst Ollie warmed up the fantastic Smallshaw Farm cottages with his merry groomsmen. On arrival at the church, hues of pastel corals and ivory flowers hung beautifully on the dark wooden pews, framing the sweeping isle. Ollie looked exceptionally dashing, and with best man Joe by his side, they greeted guests and made sure everything was 'just so'. Jenna's dress was gorgeous, graceful and timeless, she stole everybody's glances as she walked the isle in her Jimmy Choo shoes, with her Father by her side.
Preceding the LONGEST confetti run we have ever witnessed, was a fabulous party and reception at Smallshaw Farm. Guests were treated to a wonderful brass band during drinks on the lawn, playing an array of tunes. The most gorgeous ivory marquee, complete with ivory star curtain, hosted the celebrations. We were in a setting so picturesque and breathtaking, we found it hard to get a bad angle. Friends For Dinner catered the day, even guests got to play at chef, with each table presented with chefs hat and carving tools for the main course.
Into the evening we were treated to a One Direction number for Ollie and Jenna's first dance, and a bombardment of beaver masks - a nod to Jenna's former surname and hen doo. It was a truly stunning day, and we felt really honoured to have had the opportunity to create a wedding film for these two. We were so humbled by such praise for the final product, which you can read here in our testimonials. All that is left to say is all the best, and so much love to the two of you for a fantastic future together. Watch the trailer to their film here;
We love to hear feedback on our work, and it makes us so happy when we receive emails like these from our clients! We have had these words sitting in our inbox and I wanted to share them with our Brides and Grooms-to-be, and other couples out there who may be thinking of having a wedding film, but still haven't taken the plunge! We hear over and over again, that we were the best decision our couples made on the big day, and that makes us smile. So have a read and get in touch!
"We were really pleased with everything Penny and Ed did. They fitted in at the wedding perfectly blending in with our guests really well (a number of guests said they did not even know we had been filming on the day when we showed them the video!). We felt so relaxed with both penny and Ed from the minute we met them (over Skype initially) and that was completely down to them and this helped enormously.
During the day we had a great laugh with both Penny and Ed meaning the filming was a really enjoyable part of the wedding, rather than us having a feeling of being away from the day when we did some individuals shoots. Finally, the videos were just fantastic (which obviously helps) and brought back all the amazing memories of the day in a way that photos just can’t do. I would recommend everyone get a video done and even more so use Penny and Ed to do it". Gemma & Niall
"Just to say thank you so much for the BEAUTIFUL package that we received on Saturday. We couldn't wait to open it and we were so excited to watch the film. It is truly fantastic, we were completely blown away and love every second- we found watching it very emptional! It's so brilliant to be able to relive the day on the film, it's captured absolutely perfectly, you have both done such an amazing job. The music on the film is brilliant too and complements the footage perfectly.
We can't thank you both enough for capturing our memories and we really appreciate all the time, effort and hard work you both spent on the films. It really shows in such a beautiful film." Oliver & Jenna
"Just to let you know we received our wedding film (Beautifully packaged!) The film is absolutely amazing, we love it! it has captured the day perfectly and it will be something can watch and treasure for years to come. We still receive so many complements about the wedding trailer, I cant stop watching it! Thank you for all your time and effort and being so lovely throughout our whole wedding experience. By far one of the best decisions we made was having a wedding film and we were so lucky to find you.
We honestly cant recommend you enough." Tom & Leanne
"Choosing Silver Sixpence Films was the single best decision we made when planning our wedding. We did alot of research into videographers and watched many wedding trailers, but when we saw Ed & Penny's work we knew we had found The One!
We had a very small wedding with just 20 guests, and lots of people commented on the fact that they barely noticed the cameras - they were unobtrusive and captured all the details of the day without ever being in the way. Having asked to have the bridal preparations captured as well, I can say that both Ed and Penny were a pleasure to spend time with, even with lots of excitement and nerves on my part.
The trailer and wedding film are so beautiful, we cannot thank Ed and Penny enough for making us look our best and for managing to capture the emotion of the day, as well as delivering it to us in beautiful packaging. The film has been the perfect way to share our wedding with friends and family, and for us to relive it again and again. It still gives me goosebumps on viewing #7 and counting...!" Dave and Lauren
"It was so lovely to come home from work on a boring Tuesday evening and receive the wedding film in the post. It was a joy to open the lovely packaged box and find our film inside. The film is truly beautiful and you have managed to capture the feeling and atmosphere of the day so well. A lot of our family and friends have been able to watch the film with us already & everyone has a tear in there eyes and comments on how wonderful it is!
We honestly couldn't have wished for anything better, and know that the film will get watched over and over again for the rest of our lives. It provides something different to photos, moving images with a soundtrack that captures the emotion of the day, & gives us lasting memories that are brought to life. Penny and Ed you are very talented and were a joy to have around on our wedding day. All I would say is I would recommend you to anyone as your creativity & vision has given us a beautiful wedding film that we will treasure forever. Thank you so much and I hope that you go on to make lots of amazing wedding films for other couples." Kevin & Lucy
"We want to say a huge thank you! The video is just wonderful! I was crying my eyes out the first 2 or 3 times i watched it, as it brought back so many emotions from the day. I love how you captured the speeches and our vows, and edited them so nicely into the video capturing so many moments in such an eloquent video of the day. The music you have used for both the trailer and the longer movie are so lovely and so fitting! The more we watch the videos the more we fell in love with them!
Ive watched the video almost everyday and i know our parents and friends are enjoying it too. We really appreciate how you have captured such precious moments and emotions of our closest family. These will last a life time as they are kept alive through the video, moments you have helped to capture for us forever.
Your packaging is lovely, im a huge fan of stationary and nice packaging and i just loved recieving such a adorable package for our wedding video! Thank you once again!" Jorge & Sarah

There are a huge number of individuals and companies in Yorkshire and the UK making wedding films and videos and it's important that you choose the right one for you. We know how daunting it can be trying to decide between all the videographers out there so we have put this handy guide together for you:
1. Make sure you view examples of their work. Every film maker has a different style and so you'll want to make sure that you watch several of their films to make sure that you like the wedding videos that they have made in the past. If possible don't just watch quick montage videos they have put together to music but ask them if you can watch one of their full wedding films as this will give you a much better idea of what your finished product will be like (you can see full length examples of our wedding films on our Vimeo).
2. Find out what equipment they use. In order to get the best possible wedding film it's important that your videographer is using the right equipment. Make sure they are shooting on HD cameras, ideally an interchangeable lens system like the Panasonic GH3 or the Canon 5D as this will allow them to create a beautiful, cinematic looking wedding film. They should also be using dedicated sound recorders to capture the best sound and camera rigs to add wow factor to their footage. Also, find out if they use extra lighting or if their cameras able to successfully shoot in low light without needing to add intrusive additional lighting.
3. Look for film makers who are able to shoot on more than one camera. A lot happens during a wedding day and, unless you are having a very short highlights film, your best chance to capture it is to hire a videographer who is able to supply two cameras and camera people.
4. Check the prices on their website, if they aren't available make sure you get a full quote. Wedding films take a lot of hard work and require a lot of expensive equipment and expertise to put together so be wary of anyone with very low prices. It is true what they say about getting what you pay for and as a result it is worth paying a little bit more to make sure your wedding video is the quality that you deserve.
5. Find out the price of extras. A lot of things mean extra work to wedding videographers and therefore come with an additional cost: extra copies of the wedding film on DVD, extra hours filming, online versions and added camera people can all add to the price so make sure all that you require is included in your quote.
6. What music do they use? Whilst it is tempting to choose a supplier who is happy to use your favourite song on your online wedding video it is important to know that these suppliers are breaking copyright law and leaving your wedding film susceptible to being taken down or incurring a large fine. Instead you will find it better to choose a professional who is able to source licensable music that is still beautifully composed and will be the perfect soundtrack to your film.
7. Ask your videographer what their approach is to filming wedding films. Are they reportage and discreet, or do they tend to take a more directorial approach, using interview techniques and styling in order to get the shots they want? It is your day, and you need to feel comfortable with your videographer, so find out more about how they want to work and make sure that this will fit in with your plans for the day.
8. Most important of all, make sure whoever you choose to do your wedding is someone that you will be happy to be there on your special day.
We would like to think that Silver Sixpence Films is the perfect company to film your wedding but if you are unsure, we would be very happy to discuss any questions you may have. Contact us at email@example.com
We just LOVE Yorkshire, and there is nothing better than getting invited to film a wonderful homespun Yorkshire wedding. The nuptials of the delightful Michael and Jane took place at the picturesque church of St Mary the Virgin in Ponteland. The sun truly shone for these two, on one of the warmest days of the year, we were spoilt for sunlit backdrops and lens flare, leafy trees and early Summer flowers. Just gorgeous. Jane and her wedding entourage were a delight to spend time with on the morning of the big day. We just loved the details Jane had chosen, fresh pastels, and a dress Grace Kelly would have been envious of. We spent the day with the fantastic Matt Brown Photography and wedding planner Charlotte of Eden and Eve. We made a fabulous team! The church service was beautiful and accompanied by some beautiful singing by the Choir and Jane's cousin Clare. Onwards to the absolutely fabulous Vallum Farm, situated amongst fields of golden yellow and lush green in the Northumberland countryside. Held in a fantastic marquee Jane and Michael's reception centred around local produce, and wonderful food, menu's were devised by the notorious David Kennedy, guests were not disappointed. Finishing touches of homemade ice cream by Jane and Michael themselves, and beautiful decor - rustic lavender and rosemary framed the room alongside flower arrangements that seemed to grow from the white linen tables, garden like in appearence. It was really stunning.
The day itself was perfect in every way, nothing less then these two deserve. We were swept up in their love of family and each other and can only wish then the very best in their lives together. Congratulations Michael and Jane, enjoy this little reminder of your day....
Here at Silver Sixpence Films, we pride ourselves in delivering high quality cinematic films, tailored to the needs of our lovely clients. What makes us super happy, is when we get beautifully written testimonials from them, telling us how happy they are! We are so very humbled and grateful for Danielle and Stuarts kind words, do take a glimpse, we wanted to share this with you all....
"We cannot even begin to express our gratitude and praise for Ed and Penny and will be in constant admiration for the work they do. From meeting at our house before the wedding and through all the efficient communication via email, texts and calls; Ed and Penny put us at ease and we felt reassured that we were doing the right thing by choosing this lovely couple to film the biggest day of our lives.
On the day, Penny and Ed were so professional and discreet and just blended into the background without anyone knowing they were there. However, when we received the final video, we were overwhelmed with the amount of detail and precious moments that had been captured throughout the day that we had never even noticed amidst the excitement.
The final product is nothing short of fantastic and has had us, our family and friends laughing and crying from the moment we pressed play. I think my mum is on about her 48th viewing!! The music chosen by Ed was simply genius and represents the day so well that it actually feels like the song has been written for the day. This is not a wedding video; it’s a film which makes your wedding day look like a trailer to a movie. The quality is simply breath-taking and the amount of work that goes into editing something like this is so abundantly clear.
After the wedding though, the real work begins and communication continued to ensure that we were happy with every aspect of the film…Penny and Ed really care that you love the film and this is something that money really cannot buy. This couple have a genuine passion for what they do and I feel that this shines through.
I literally cannot gush enough about Silver Sixpence Films. Penny and Ed are a perfect combination and it actually felt like I was talking to a friend when speaking with Penny. I have, and will continue to, recommend them to all my friends who are planning weddings and basically anyone who will listen. This film is something that we will treasure forever and we cannot endorse Silver Sixpence Films enough…they are worth every penny…and more.
All our love, the Smiths xx"
