Set in the heart of Lincolnshire, Emmy's family home hosted this delightful garden wedding. We were thrilled to be asked to film the wedding day and loved the outdoor ceremony and marquee reception. Working with the fab Johnny Draper made the day relaxed and fun. After the ceremony, a steel band played during a sunny champagne reception then onto the beautifully dressed marquee for food and speeches. What a day. x
She's our bestie and he's dapper and romantic, we just loved shooting a Abby & John's gorgeous East Yorkshire wedding! The grand and beautiful Beverley Minster hosted this handsome wedding, with a fabulous reading from her hum, yours truly... and Abby's darling kids, we won't forget to mention them! Rustic charm and rural countryside hosted an amazing Papkata reception, details were sublime and pulled together by the brilliant Charlotte at Eden and Eve. Inspire Images documented the day and the very talented Annika's Apron provided a beaut of a cake, which we all scoffed down for dessert. A whole host of fabulous suppliers and Abby's unique charm, styling and attention to detail made for a picture perfect reception. We couldn't wish these two more happiness and love for their bright future together! xx
We dream of beautiful weddings, but beautiful, cosy, country, chic weddings are what we long for. Cosy fires, mulled wine, chocolates and hand ties of wintery blooms were in full swing at the wedding of Daniele and Sam. It was absolutely dreamy. Starting the day in the beautiful village of Bibury in the heart of the Cotswolds, we met Daniele for a very relaxed morning full of bubbles and laughter. The warmth of the friends and family surrounding her was intoxicating, and we loved spending time with the girls. On arrival at the Cripps Barn, we were met with amazing blue skies, crisp cold weather blessed by the golden light that only winter weddings witness. Light that warms every part of us with happiness and loves the lens whole heartedly. We are drawn in by the chemistry between our wonderful couple, love filled the air and it was truly wonderful to witness their vows and the cheers of onlooking friend and family. We loved working with the brilliant Nicola Milns Photography , to see her stunning photos of the big day click here. Congratulations to you Daniele and Sam and thank you for letting us be part of your beautiful day.
I think we had been looking forward to Phil and Lizzie's wedding all Summer. We knew it was going to be a good old knees up, and that some of our besties were going to be there... bonus! The day didn't disappoint. To start with, Lizzie, a local BBC radio presenter, is just gorgeous, and we knew that she would have a dress to die for, and didn't she just! The whole family are just lovely, lovely people, and we were made up to be asked to shoot the wedding for her and Phil. It was a local affair, held in the pretty village of Brantingham, East Yorshire. Bridal prep kicked off at the family home in Cottingham, with vintage VW camper and car arriving to pick up the bridal party. The church service was held at the very pretty local church, and the marquee reception, high on the hill at the Keeper's Lodge, was hidden away, with views over the Yorkshire Wolds. The theme was vintage tea party, and we loved all of the gorgeous details, china tea cups, and pretty birdcage centre pieces. We have to mention the amazing live acoustic set by the lovely Mike Wright, and working with the photographer Nick Freeman, of 246 Photography. It was a great day, and we hope you enjoy this fun, vintage inspired trailer for the lovely two;
We love a lively wedding! One with such flair and fun is a dream to shoot, and wow, didn't Jorge and Sarah hold a lively wedding! The whole day was filled with joy and laughter and these two were so fabulous to film. We totally loved meeting our new besties Red On Blonde who were a match made in heaven for our videography style. We LOVED working with them and their photographs are fantastic!! The wedding itself was at the beautiful Askham Hall in Cumbria, a picture perfect country setting. Weddings By Annabel organised and arranged the day for this jet setting couple, who live and work in far flung places across the globe. We were a total dream team, but it was when the tequila came out and the Mariachi band came on that we knew we had a winner! I love the colour of the beautiful flowers and elegant coral bridesmaids dresses that Sarah chose, marrying perfectly with the brightly coloured Mexican flags and decorations. This is a great one! Watch it here.....
We understand that every Bride and Groom has a budget and that it can be hard to understand why companies supplying a similar product can cover such a range of fees. How much you pay for a wedding film will always depend on your budget but it is worth understanding why videographers charge what they do for a wedding video and what you can expect for your price.
Making a wedding film can take a lot of time and expertise and requires the use of a lot of expensive equipment. Like many services there are a huge variety of prices and services on offer. Your entry level videographer will normally charge less than £500 to come and film your wedding day. For this very low price you are unlikely to get the best equipment and your finished wedding film will almost certainly be quickly edited to a pre-existing template. Whilst the end result may still serve as a lovely reminder of your day it is unlikely to be beautifully crafted, and make you look like a movie star and become the envy of your friends! Videographers in this price range are often not entirely dedicated to making wedding films and will usually have another job during the week so they can afford to keep their prices low. As a result you can often expect lengthly delays with receiving your wedding video and limited communication about the finished product.
Your middle priced wedding filmmaker will charge between £1000 - £2500 and for this price you will get a much more professional and cinematic wedding video. Unlike your entry level videographers you will likely have more than one camera person attending your wedding, using high quality equipment (including steady cams, monopods, sliders and a variety of lenses), enabling them to capture all the detail from lots of different angles. Film makers from this price range will usually take a lot of time on carefully editing and grading your wedding film to be unique and beautiful, and the end result will be something you treasure forever and that your friends and family will love to watch again and again.
Your premium wedding videographer will be priced between £2000 - £5000 and you can expect them to arrive with potentially a whole crew of camera men and expensive equipment including camera cranes and aerial cameras. They will possibly only work on a small number of weddings a year and will be used to dealing with high end clients.
Silver Sixpence Films have priced ourselves to start just below the middle price range bracket. We want our wedding films to be available to as many people as possible but didn't want to sacrifice the quality we are able to provide as a result of charging too little. Our trailer only package is as cheap as £695 and we do discounts as often as possible, particularly for weekday or off-season weddings but we always put the same care and attention into our finished films as we love creating beautiful, cinematic, high quality wedding videos for our clients.

The lovely Kevin and Lucy held a beautiful wedding at the gorgeous East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley. It was an explosion of rustic, vintage, pastel gorgeousness and these two were so scrumptiously in love it really made our hearts melt. Wedding styling and overall vintage charm was catered for by the amazing Simply Vintage Events. The barn at East Riddlesden makes for a stunning venue and it was made all the more unique by Lucy's vision and creativity, the details were really something. Heavy rain added to the atmosphere, giving the day a rustic and romantic feel (and we love rain on film!!). Dark skies made way for a dashing of sunlight for the evening party a nod to the two of them as they celebrated away into the night. We felt really lucky to have been asked to capture their very special day, here is a little teaser of their wedding film....
There are a huge number of individuals and companies in Yorkshire and the UK making wedding films and videos and it's important that you choose the right one for you. We know how daunting it can be trying to decide between all the videographers out there so we have put this handy guide together for you:
1. Make sure you view examples of their work. Every film maker has a different style and so you'll want to make sure that you watch several of their films to make sure that you like the wedding videos that they have made in the past. If possible don't just watch quick montage videos they have put together to music but ask them if you can watch one of their full wedding films as this will give you a much better idea of what your finished product will be like (you can see full length examples of our wedding films on our Vimeo).
2. Find out what equipment they use. In order to get the best possible wedding film it's important that your videographer is using the right equipment. Make sure they are shooting on HD cameras, ideally an interchangeable lens system like the Panasonic GH3 or the Canon 5D as this will allow them to create a beautiful, cinematic looking wedding film. They should also be using dedicated sound recorders to capture the best sound and camera rigs to add wow factor to their footage. Also, find out if they use extra lighting or if their cameras able to successfully shoot in low light without needing to add intrusive additional lighting.
3. Look for film makers who are able to shoot on more than one camera. A lot happens during a wedding day and, unless you are having a very short highlights film, your best chance to capture it is to hire a videographer who is able to supply two cameras and camera people.
4. Check the prices on their website, if they aren't available make sure you get a full quote. Wedding films take a lot of hard work and require a lot of expensive equipment and expertise to put together so be wary of anyone with very low prices. It is true what they say about getting what you pay for and as a result it is worth paying a little bit more to make sure your wedding video is the quality that you deserve.
5. Find out the price of extras. A lot of things mean extra work to wedding videographers and therefore come with an additional cost: extra copies of the wedding film on DVD, extra hours filming, online versions and added camera people can all add to the price so make sure all that you require is included in your quote.
6. What music do they use? Whilst it is tempting to choose a supplier who is happy to use your favourite song on your online wedding video it is important to know that these suppliers are breaking copyright law and leaving your wedding film susceptible to being taken down or incurring a large fine. Instead you will find it better to choose a professional who is able to source licensable music that is still beautifully composed and will be the perfect soundtrack to your film.
7. Ask your videographer what their approach is to filming wedding films. Are they reportage and discreet, or do they tend to take a more directorial approach, using interview techniques and styling in order to get the shots they want? It is your day, and you need to feel comfortable with your videographer, so find out more about how they want to work and make sure that this will fit in with your plans for the day.
8. Most important of all, make sure whoever you choose to do your wedding is someone that you will be happy to be there on your special day.
We would like to think that Silver Sixpence Films is the perfect company to film your wedding but if you are unsure, we would be very happy to discuss any questions you may have. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We were very excited when David and Lauren asked us to film their London wedding over the Easter weekend. They had chosen the luxurious Corinthia hotel, just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square and overlooking the River Thames. When they day of their wedding arrived the weather was fantastic, with the sun shining bright and bringing out the beauty of the city. It was a perfect setting, framed by the most beautiful arrangement of tulips in the adjacent park. We love city weddings, the notion that the immediate outside world is moving along at its regular pace, whilst moments of two people, creating a life together, declaring their love for each other, are captured as if in slow motion.
The day started as it meant to go on; relaxed, organised, beauty are how we shall describe it. Whilst our Groom, David, and his merry Grooms-men joined forces in the local pub, Lauren and her bridal party got ready in an incredible suite, at the Corinthia Hotel.
The hotel itself, I am not sure if you have ever been there, is amazing. At the entrance, an ethreal garden of Spring flowers greets guests, but the eye cannot help but be drawn to the most amazing Baccarat chandelier. This chandelier consists of 1001 small globes of clear crystal suspended under the beautiful domed roof. In the centre, hung slightly to the left is one singular red globe, signature of the Baccarat design, which almost seams to beat, as a tiny heart.
It was easy to be swept up in the romance of this day. When the doors opened to the ceremony room and Lauren walked in, hearts melted and then stopped. What a moment. We held on that isle walk as long as we could dare, but we couldn't take our eyes off her, and I am sure you won't be able to either.
Sunday mornings don't get better then this one. Kishan and Roshni's wedding took place on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning at Moor Park Golf Club in North London. The building itself is a fantastic setting for a wedding, with its intricately decorated interiors and beautiful paintings. Extensive landscaped gardens host a scattering of grand statuettes and fountains, the perfect setting for romantic walks and sharing moments.
On arrival to the venue, we were blown away by the details of the building. At every turn is gold decor and beautiful painting's. The morning saw Roshni and her bridal party prepare whilst Kishan entertained guests in the main lobby. Guests arrived with bright faces and excitement at the pending ceremony, welcomed by cups of hot coffee and masala tea. Smiles and laughter filled the room. Kishan's face lit up at the sight of his stunning bride, and they both really did look the picture of happiness. Roshni's glittering floor length gown looked beautiful, shimmering in the sunlight that flooded the ceremony room.
We already felt privileged to be included in such a gorgeous wedding in such a wonderful location and even more so to witness Roshni and Kishan's handwritten vows. The whole room was visibly moved and we found ourselves totally absorbed in the declarations of love and the words that were spoken at this ceremony. We attend many weddings, all of which are truly wonderful, but we have such a soft spot for personalised vows and words like we heard on this day tug at our heartstrings and make us remember just how lucky we are to get to capture such precious moments for our couples.
We know, having spoken to many brides, that a wedding film is not at the top of the list when organising a wedding. We also know from all our previous clients that having a wedding film is one of the best decisions that couples feel they made after their wedding. We are regularly told that it is our wedding film and not the photographs that the couple get out year after year on their anniversary, and it is our film that brought everyone to tears. A good photograph is a beautiful memento of the day, but the real and full emotion can only be captured in a wedding film. That is why we take great pride in knowing someone has been moved to tears by every single film we have made so far! Another thing that we often hear is how lovely the couple find watching the wedding video and seeing things that they missed on the day. Often, they say, their weddings went by so quickly that they didn’t really have time to enjoy it or fully absorb everything that was happening and so having a wedding film means that they can experience all those things properly again and again.
Also, a lot of people aren't aware that wedding films have changed an incredible amount in the last few years. Gone are the days of the four hour, realtime wedding film that you can only bring yourself to watch through once before putting it on a shelf. Wedding films now look and feel like beautiful, cinematic short films and are watchable again and again, helping you to relive your wedding day without putting aside hours to do it.
We were thrilled to have a couple of lovely bits of press this Autumn. News of Silver Sixpence Films hit the pages of Your Yorkshire Wedding Magazine and Northern Bride Magazine! We hope that lots of lovely Brides read about us and want to bring us on board for their big day. We were also really excited to work with Inspire Images and collaborate on the feature for Your Yorkshire Wedding Magazine.
